Rik brings 30 years of applied design engineering experience in surveying, planning, detail design, and design presentation. Rik attended George Mason University and has attended numerous technical seminars throughout the Southeast, and continuing education and refresher courses at Georgia Institute of Technology and Southern Polytechnic State University. Rik is registered in Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. He has been responsible for the civil design of numerous varied projects including over 300 multifamily projects, more than 35 fast food facilities, nearly 50 motels, and various institutional, commercial, industrial, and single-family residential developments. Services have included industrial waste studies, wastewater collection and treatment, potable water treatment and distribution; boundary and topographic survey work and plat preparation; zoning and annexation presentations; planning and layout of subdivisions and mixed-use developments (C.U.P. / P.U.D.); detailed site designs including grading and drainage plans, hundreds of hydrological studies, utility services, and erosion control. Clients include architects, developers, owner-developers, municipalities, counties, state and Federal Agencies. Mr. Galpin is a principal/owner of ashford engineers, is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers and past Regional Vice-President of the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers, Georgia Engineering Alliance.
